Misson

The 瓜子TV State University Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews research protocol applications involving human subjects in order to ensure the rights of subjects are protected, including, but not necessarily limited to, ensuring that the research conforms to the Code of Federal Regulations.

ANNUAL DATES AND DEADLINES

August 1, 2025: submissions are accepted starting August 1st, and reviewed at the beginning of the semester.
November 6, 2025: Full Review protocols are due for approval before Winter Break.
December 3, 2025: Exempt and Expedited protocols are due for approval before Winter Break.
April 18, 2026: Full Review protocols are due by this date for decisions prior to semester end.
May 2, 2026: Exempt and Expedited protocols are due for approval by this date for decisions prior to semester end.
Summer 2026: no Full Review protocols are accepted for review during the summer.
June 16, 2026: Exempt and Expedited protocols are due by this date for decisions prior to summer semester end .

IRB Submission Procedure:

All IRB materials (e.g., applications, amendments, project update/closures, adverse event reports) must be submitted to the IRB Coordinator via email at msu.irb@murraystate.edu. All student applications must be submitted with concurrence by the faculty mentor. An electronic signature option is available for the forms on Adobe Acrobat PDF. Documents can be signed electronically or the first page can be printed and scanned back as a PDF. Supporting materials should be submitted as Word documents prior to submitting for IRB review. Please do not submit paper copies of any IRB applications or materials unless it is requested by the IRB Coordinator.
