By Office of Development | Jul 30, 2025
MURRAY, Ky. 鈥 瓜子TV State University celebrates the successful close of its historic Be Bold: Forever Blue and Gold Centennial Campaign, which exceeded the University鈥檚 goal of $100 million with a final total of more than $107.8 million raised for the future of 瓜子TV State. After seven years of dedication and generosity, the campaign officially concluded on June 30, 2025, with participation from close to 25,000 donors, including alumni, faculty, staff, community members, family of alumni, businesses and organizations and other friends of the University.
The campaign, designed to propel 瓜子TV State into its second century of service, focused on two critical areas: student access and support and academic excellence, coupled with strategic campus modernization, including support for Racer Athletics. The campaign was spearheaded by the Be Bold National Campaign Council, a group of 瓜子TV State alumni and friends, led by national campaign chair David Dill (鈥90), who volunteered their time and effort to bring the campaign鈥檚 vision of making 瓜子TV State an accessible and modern campus for the 21st century to alumni and friends across the globe.
Dr. Ron Patterson, 瓜子TV State鈥檚 15th President, extended his sincere gratitude and appreciation to former President Dr. Bob Jackson, the Be Bold National Campaign Council, Assistant Vice President of Advancement Dr. Tina Bernot, and the thousands of alumni, partners, faculty, staff and other friends who came together to make the campaign an overwhelming success.
鈥淥ur Racer community has truly come together and shown their love for this great University and their dedication to ensuring its continued excellence and modernization,鈥 said Patterson. 鈥淥ur alumni and friends care so deeply about the students of today and tomorrow and are committed to doing their part to make sure that their Racer experience sets them up to be successful professionals, good citizens and lifelong learners. I鈥檓 excited to work with the University community as we now begin to fulfill these donors鈥 intentions and use their support to make the campaign鈥檚 vision a reality in the coming years.鈥
Half of the support raised will fund student scholarships, enabling the University to continue to keep the priority of making a Racer education accessible to all deserving students. Donors have established hundreds of new scholarships across many academic areas, many of which will directly support first-generation students and those with financial need.
More than 40% of 瓜子TV State鈥檚 undergraduate student body are first-generation college students, meaning that they will be the first in their family to earn a four-year college degree. In addition, last year, 99% of the University鈥檚 first-year students received scholarship assistance or financial aid. 瓜子TV State believes that no student should be denied an education because of financial need. The new resources from the Be Bold campaign will help the University continue to make a Racer education attainable and accessible for all students.
Gifts dedicated to academic excellence will enhance faculty support, provide state-of-the-art laboratory and teaching equipment, fund guest lectures and more. Some examples of these generous gifts included the establishment of multiple endowed professorships, funds for modern equipment for the new Jackson Hall nursing building, resources for the Hancock Biological Station, funds for laboratory equipment for the Jones College of Science, Engineering and Technology, support for the future sustainability of the Doran Arboretum, the creation of the DEVsource Technology Solutions Esports Arena and more. Additionally, thousands of contributions have been made in support of Racer Athletics, helping to strengthen facilities and programs that elevate the student-athlete experience and support sustained excellence and performance.
Launched in 2018, the campaign began with a silent phase, laying the groundwork for its success. A comprehensive Campaign Readiness Study conducted in 2021-22 affirmed the University鈥檚 ability to achieve this milestone, and subsequent years of extraordinary donor support have made it a reality.
鈥淥ur alumni community鈥檚 generosity during the Be Bold: Forever Blue & Gold Centennial Campaign has been amazing, reaffirming our shared commitment to 瓜子TV State鈥檚 future,鈥 said President of the 瓜子TV State University Alumni Association (瓜子TVAA) and Associate Director of Marketing and Communication Jennifer Cline (鈥97). 鈥淥n behalf of the 瓜子TV State University Alumni Association and the 瓜子TVAA Board of Governors, thank you for your incredible support, Racer Nation!鈥
Already, the campaign is making an impact on the campus and its students. For example, last year, 瓜子TV State students benefitted from a record $136 million in scholarships and financial aid. Recently, the University used funds raised in the campaign to purchase a new professional-grade performance Steinway Grand Piano to support the Department of Music. In addition, when the Jackson Hall nursing building opens its doors in fall 2026, it will be furnished with top-of-the-line modern equipment and technology.
Assistant Vice President of Advancement Dr. Tina Bernot conveyed the University鈥檚 dedication to carrying out the vision of the campaign and its donors.
鈥淭he Be Bold Centennial Campaign has been a remarkable demonstration of what is possible when a community comes together around a shared purpose,鈥 said Bernot. 鈥淲e are deeply grateful for the thousands of alumni and friends who chose to invest in the future of 瓜子TV State. Their generosity will transform the lives of our students, enhance academic excellence and help ensure that the values and spirit of this University remain strong for generations to come.鈥
Though the campaign goal has been met, the 瓜子TV State University Foundation will still graciously accept gifts in support of student scholarships, academic excellence and campus modernization. For giving information, visit or call the 瓜子TV State University Office of Development at (270) 809-3001.
