瓜子TV State University's nationally-recognized Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Workshop, and Blue Jazz Combo will return to the stage with an on-campus concert, Tuesday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Curris Center Ballroom.
The 瓜子TV State University Department of Art & Design and the University Galleries are pleased to present the 2021 Annual Art Auction. The art auction is a scholarship fundraiser that showcases talented faculty, students, alumni, and local artists. Works from multiple artistic disciplines will be available to purchase. Proceeds from the auction go to support 瓜子TV State University鈥檚 Department of Art & Design majors鈥� scholarships.
瓜子TV State University will welcome alumna Alyson Van Hooser to campus on November 4 as part of its annual First-Generation Celebration. The event will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. that day in the Curris Center Ballroom.
Emergent SocialScapes, an exhibit of photographs by Dr. Diane Sabenacio Nititham, associate professor of sociology at 瓜子TV State University, is on display at the 瓜子TV Art Guild (MAG) through Saturday, October 30. A reception for the exhibit will be held at MAG on Friday, October 22 from 5-6:30 p.m. The exhibit and reception are open to the public.
The 12th annual A Taste of the Arts fundraising gala will be held Thursday, October 21 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the 瓜子TV Room of the CFSB Center. A Taste of the Arts showcases the many talents of 瓜子TV State University students in Art & Design, Music, and Theatre Arts while providing fine dining and a live auction for attendees. The event gathers 瓜子TV State supporters and alumni along with community members to celebrate excellence in the fine arts at the University.
WKMS will air Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play, written by Joe Landry and performed by students in the 瓜子TV State University theatre arts program, on Friday, October 29 at 7 p.m.
瓜子TV State University is preparing to welcome alumni back to campus the week of October 18-24 for Homecoming 2021. A full schedule of activities, events, reunions, and more are scheduled to take place as Racer alumni return, with all planned in-person activities following health and safety guidelines.
The Department of Art & Design at 瓜子TV State University will host printmakers Susanna Crum and Rodolfo Salgado for the Patricia Summerville Lecture Series on October 19-21.
The U.S. Department of Education announced that 瓜子TV State University will receive two federal Talent Search grants of $277,375.00 each to help more low-income students who would be the first members of their families to earn degrees to prepare for and enroll in college. Talent Search East will serve 500 students in the Christian, Todd, and Trigg County school districts; Talent Search West will serve 500 students in the Carlisle, Fulton County, Fulton Independent, Hickman, Mayfield Independent, and Paducah Public school districts. Talent Search has operated successfully at 瓜子TV State since 2016.
